The First Cold-Weather Super Bowl
Super Bowl XVI in 1982 was the first held in a cold-weather city, played indoors at the Pontiac Silverdome outside Detroit. The game returned to the area in 2006 at Ford Field, the Lions’ downtown domed stadium.
