Top 10 Bars at Super Bowl 52 in Minneapolis

Once a year, the world’s biggest game descends on a different city in the United States and brings plenty of fans ready to do some exploring. As Super Bowl 52 looks to head to Minneapolis, Minnesota in 2018, here’s a look at the Top 10 places to grab a drink and enjoy the nightlife Minneapolis has to offer during Super Bowl week.

10. Cowboy Jack’s Downtown Minneapolis

Review: “The food was so good here. Comfort food at its best! Large portions and saucy! The drinks were very good; no need to complain about not enough alcohol in your drinks!”

9. Matt’s Bar

Review: “On visit to Minneapolis I heard about the famous burger and saw this was original . What a great atmosphere true dive bar small and quaint and cold beer. The little grill behind bar handles all the orders and the Juicy Lucy is better than reports say. Outstanding best burger in the Cities bar none gotta go but expect long wait during peak times.”

8. Sisyphus Brewing

Review: “This is a nice little pub brewery that features a little backroom bar for comedy. We enjoyed a couple of “Westcoast IPAs” while watching a moms comedy show. Only $10 per ticket. The beer was very good and the show was fun. When we came back to the main-room it was packed. We are from California so I assume this is a popular locals place. People were friendly and the prices were average so yes I would go back if I was in the area.”

7. Psycho Suzi’s Motor Lounge

Review: “Very unique atmosphere! Fun to entertain your friends and out of town guests. We warned them about the drinks – rated in # of Skulls! Cute mugs, too. We like their pizza and appetizers very much.”

6. Prohibition

Review: “This bar/lounge was once the penthouse residence of the developer of the Foshay Tower at its highest occupied floor, so the place is a collection of spaces. Each offers a different view of the city. Service was attentive and friendly, drinks were excellent. A cool experience if you’re in the area.”

5. Up-Down Minneapolis

Review: “My friends had been telling me about this place for a while. Finally we had the chance to go there and it was worth the wait. This place has skee ball, pinball, and plenty of arcade machines I haven’t seen in ages. This place also hosts video game tournaments such as Smash Bros N64. The food here is primarily pizza by the slice and they also offer salads. The drink selection is also pretty good too. But the heart of this place are the games. From Mortal Kombat, Iron, Battletoads, and my favorite group game… 4 player Pac Man Battle. I think I’ve found my regular place, this one is worth checking out, bring quarters or lots of dollar bills. Check out 10 cent tokens on Thursdays too.”

4. Shout House Dueling Pianos

Review: “This bar was a lot of fun and very entertaining. There was a lot of crowd interaction with birthday entertainment and singalongs. The drinks were very tasty and our waiter did a great job. I would definitely go again and highly recommend it.”

3. Dakota Jazz Club

Review: “Had always wanted to go to Dakota and finally booked during Vikings weekend. Busy on a Sunday and glad I booked in advance. Davina and the Vagabounds were great and so were drinks and dessert. Crowd was enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Memberships are available to ensure great seating at events, which I would for sure do if I did not live in Canada, with city visits infrequent. Great place and great evening at Dakota!!”

2. First Avenue

Review: “Went here recently and saw Aesop Rock. Place is still amazing!! The show was visually fantastic and the sound is perfect! Go to the second floor to get a drink faster and make sure to get a pic with Prince’s gold star. Buy early, lots of shows sell out. There is some parking near but lots of public transit will get you there. Go a block up to get great hot dogs before the show from the street cart!!”

1. The Local

Review: “The Nicollet Mall is currently under street renovation & is a bit noisy. This did not stop us. You get $2.off appetizers, wine & beer for happy hour. We had a pint each of Alaskan white & Summit Seasonal for $3.97 each. Out appetizers were 3 wee burgers & cauliflower shattered for $7.99each. This was a perfect shareable, we loved it.”
