The Super Bowl Fan Village

We’re just two months away from the Super Bowl! That means San Francisco is starting to prepare for all those fans! It’s Super Bowl City time!

Super Bowl City is a must-visit for the biggest NFL fans who will be in the Bay Area! Each city that hosts the Super Bowl builds their own individual Super Bowl City. It’s a free fan-zone or “fan village” that includes vendors, and family friendly events. It’s always fun! Exhibits will be on display for passersby, as well as art exhibits and more. This will be where all the action is prior to kickoff on the 7th. Good thing it’s within walking distance of great hotels and restaurants.

Because Super Bowl City will be located downtown, San Francisco will close down the eastern stretch of famed Market St. to be turned into Super Bowl City. This will be near the staging area for CBS TV coverage as well. Super Bowl City itself will be centered in Justin Herman Plaza. Check out the plans below! The theory behind this year’s city is to show off the best of the Bay Area. It will include interactive games and activities. It’s got to be the best way to experience San Francisco.

This is the first time the Super Bowl has been held in San Francisco since 1985. Even though the Super Bowl has been in California more recently. Levi’s Stadium (home of the 49ers) will play host for the Big Game, even though it’s a couple miles away. Super Bowl 2016 tickets are still available from the roughly 75,000 seats in the stadium!

Don’t forget there are other must-see attractions for your Super Bowl 50 vacation. The NFL Experience is a great stop. It offers the opportunity to meet some of your favorite NFL players. A Super Bowl trip to San Francisco warrants a visit to the Golden Gate Bridge. Because if your in San Francisco you have to see the bridge. Another Super Bowl attraction is the Super Bowl pregame tailgate party. This year, the celebrity chef cooking the food will be Guy Fieri, and there’s always a big-name host for the event along with past and present NFL players. It’s a great way to pre-game before the Super Bowl (not just because it has an open bar and buffet.)

Super Bowl City will open January 30th and close February 7th of 2016. That gives you plenty of time! Even if you’re just in the city to enjoy the atmosphere, this is one great stop you have to make! Have fun!
