Super Bowl 50 is going to be the largest Super Bowl yet. The excitement has already begun and fans are itching to see what team will be holding the coveted Lombardi Trophy on February 7. But the Super Bowl is about so much more than two football teams battling to claim the top spot in the sport. In order to dig deep into this extraordinary event, we’re going to explore what happened at last year’s super bowl.
Super Bowl 49 took place in Glendale, Arizona, home of the Arizona Cardinals. We asked one fan to put together a post on his experience and this is what he said:
What I experienced was truly one of the largest events I have ever seen. There are five things, which stood out the most. Here they are.
- NFL Experience
Have you ever wanted to play like a pro, meet a pro and look like a pro? For NFL enthusiasts, the NFL Experience is a dream come true. This is the NFL’s interactive theme park. Fans have the opportunity to pass like Aaron Rodgers, meet NFL greats like Fred Taylor, and shop in the largest store of Super Bowl Merchandise. Tickets will be $35 for adults and $20 for children 12 and under.
2. Bud Light House of Whatever
For those 21 and over, this was the go-to destination. Bud Light fully embraced its “Up for Whatever” persona and turned downtown Phoenix into a non-stop party. Bud Light transported 13 truckloads of sand, 3,000 cubic feet of inflatables, and donated 343,000 meals as part of the House of Whatever. For those lucky enough to attend, the House of Whatever featured musical guests Steve Aoki, Brett Eldredge, and more. This was where everyone wanted to be leading up to the game.
The Super Bowl is known for attracting big time names. In Phoenix, there were countless events that led up to the game. The top one I attended was “The Night Before Concert.” Fittingly, on the Saturday before the big game, US Airways Center hosted Dierks Bentley, Jason Aldean, and Florida Georgia Line. It’s tough to find a country concert better than that. The Super Bowl is knows for putting on big events the Saturday before the game, so don’t be surprised to see something similar this time around.
4. Gridiron Glory: The Best of the Pro Football Hall of Fame
The traveling hall of fame exhibit had everything you could ask for. The exhibit had game-worn jerseys, videos featuring past games, and most importantly, the Lombardi Trophy. For the history junkies in the NFL world, this was just as good as Canton itself.
5. The Fans
Without a doubt, the most impressive part of Super Bowl Weekend was the fans. I’ve been to the World Series, numerous Final Fours, and a BCS bowl game, yet nothing compares to the environment of the Super Bowl. It became clear that NFL fans are as passionate as they come, and I couldn’t have asked for a better environment to be a part of.
